But, technically I saved more than I spent.

I'll try to start posting my list earlier to help y'all, but I usually wait til the end of the week to shop, so I'd love for you to share your bargains with me!!

too big, too fast

This girl is so stinkin' adorable... I could just eat her up. Today, she's been letting me hold her and sing "Rock-A-Bye, Baby" to her. Then we held her princess baby doll and sang to it and she kissed it several times. The girl loves kisses! Everytime I turn around she wants kisses!!! I'll take it.

baking bread

Seth loves when I bake bread!!

I have to take the huge bread machine out of the cabinet. He just sits in there doing who-knows-what. Makes me laugh, so I thought I'd share!

I have an awesome whole wheat recipe if you are interested!!

hangin in there

Well, Seth's staph is healing nicely and Leah is over her shots. BUT... we have all gotten sick; Nate even stayed home today. I think we all had/have the same thing and I think Leah had it first. (It's so hard to tell what's going on with them) She was so unhappy all day Saturday, and I just thought, as usual, that she was teething. But then, I had aches in every joint of my body Sunday and Monday and Seth was pitiful yesterday; he sat on the couch almost the entire day and would just fall asleep throughout the day. --How do you know your 2 year old is sick?? When he falls asleep several times throughout the day!-- So, back to Leah, in hind-sight, I wonder if she had what Seth and I had. At the current moment, Nathan is up and about and no one is whining or crying (not even me), so things are looking up. I hope and pray that each of you are healthy and making the most of your health. I'm off to watch more movies!!

staph infection

I realize that this is niether a good or pleasant picture, but I wanted to post it in order to help any mommies like me out there. I had no idea what I was looking at when I saw this, but I knew that it was something bad. At first sight, I thought that maybe he had gotten bit at church, but I couldn't find any teeth marks, so my next thought was a bug. As I looked at it more closely, horrible thoughts ran through my head and my instinct was to run to the Dr. right away, but I "calmed" myself down and decided to wait until the next day. Anyway, I couldn't get a good picture so hopefully this will suffice. The only thing you can't tell from the picture is that there are little blistery bumps around the perimeter of the brown section. There are all different kinds of staph., but this is ours, so if you see anything similar on your child, go with your gut and head to the Doc immediately.

we're still alive

Well, it's been awhile, but not for lack of things to write! There are many many things that I could write, but I'll keep it quick.

After all the Fullerton crew left, we saw some of the Barley clan. Joy was in town, then Grandma Lundberg joined us, Joy left and Wesley came. The kids enjoyed seeing them all. (We did also!!)

Yesterday, Leah had an appointment to get her 12 month shots (that's right, we're a little behind!!). We found out that she doesn't yet weigh 18 lbs, which puts her in the 2% for weight. But, she has grown 10 inches since the day she was born; she's 29 inches long!! I knew she was a peanut!! I guess her nickname, "Ladybug," is appropriate. She has been miserable the last day and a half. You can see the "I don't feel good" look in her eyes. So pitiful.

While we were there, the Dr. Susan took a look at Seth's "strange injury" and diagnosed him with a form of a staph infection. So he's on super expensive antibiotics and I'm cleaning the house and praying that Leah hasn't been infected. He doesn't seem to be bothered by it, so the only tricky part is treating it with oral and topical antibiotics and TONS of laundry!!

I'm so thankful that I can be the one to care for my children when everything is right and when everything goes wrong!!! I love being their mommy... for better, for worse...
